Martha Scott

Making things has always been part of my life. I can't imagine not having art thoughts rattling around in my brain. Luckily, I taught art for nine years so not only was my brain rattling, my students' brains were plenty active too. Teaching art was an enjoyable experience. I love the challenge of making something, planning it, executing the plan and finally seeing how it turns out. Usually, it is a gratifying achievement. I love clay because you can do so many things with it.

Junk is another favorite because it is such an unlikely medium. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than finding a piece of seemingly useless junk and incorporating it into one of my Junkyard Angels. To me, a day without art is like a day without sunshine.
